"Tenor Christopher Saunders heightened the dramatic content in some of his five offerings, including an operatic Du bist die Ruh balanced by a finely honed reading of the Wanderers Nachtlied - his timbre remained consistently lucid and firm in articulation."

"Among the soloists, tenor Christopher Saunders proved a welcome presence both for his careful, refined Music for a while and the bouncy Come away, fellow sailors brightening the opera's mournful conclusion."

"Christopher Saunders ... proved to be the true heart of this gathering of Schubert devotees. Accompanied by the unobtrusive Berta Brozgul, Saunders interpreted three lieder ... Committed to the marriage of musical and lyrical line, he sang with great tenderness and tactful passion."

Messiah, Collegium Symphonic Chorus
Opera Opera, February 2007
"Authentic Baroque"
Reviewer: Alan True

"Christopher Saunders made an auspicious Perth debut. His account of the opening recitative and aria left nothing to be desired. He sang to the audience, not at them, turning his head to every part of the hall. It seemed that he communicated intimately with every member of the audience. His floating unforced tone with the long runs in Comfort Ye, sung on a single breath, certainly made a great impression. It was tasteful singing of the best kind, with judicious use of ornamentation. His singing of But Thou didst not leave his soul in Hell rolled along effortlessly, contrasting with the riveting intensity of Thou shalt break them. The mood painting was extraordinarily fine and he made Baroque practice sound easy. More please."
